Abstract:
The vehicle (10) has an electric traction motor (12) supplied by battery (14) or fuel cell (16). The fuel cell is not used till it has warmed up. An accelerator pedal (30) controls power demand by the motor, and the power demand at the maximum setting of the accelerator pedal is adjusted as a function of a parameter representing the electrical energy available to supply the motor.
