Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating a residue capable of significantly decreasing impurities in a fluorinated calcium residue obtained by reacting a dehalogenized filtrate containing fluorine with a dechlorinated water containing calcium. SOLUTION: This method for treating a residue is characterized by cleaning, washing and drying a fluorinated calcium residue at pH 11 or more by reacting a dehalogenized filtrate containing fluorine obtained by (1) pelletizing smoke ash in steel manufacturing by adding a carbon material and water thereto, calcining the resulting pellet at a reduction volatilization furnace, then recovering a crude zinc oxide powder, incorporating the crude zinc oxide powder into an alkaline solution and stirring the same while holding the pH at 10 or more, after that, adding an acid to the obtained dehalogenized filtrate through filtration and removing the impurities while maintaining the pH at 9-10, with a dechlorinated water containing calcium obatained by (2) dechlornation sprinkling a lime water into the smoking ashes, then adding an alkali thereto and removing the impurities while maintaining the pH at 9-10.
