Abstract:

To enhance the reliability and durability of a shell type roller clutch, a shell type needle bearing or a needle bearing having a press holder by forming an outer ring 2a or the like of high quality having a flange 6c on an edge without increasing the cost.

A shape of an inner circumferential surface of a die 10a to obtain an intermediate stock 18a is a stepped shape in which a small diameter part 23 and a large diameter part 24 are continuous to each other at an inner diameter side stepped part 22. A shape of an outer circumferential surface of a punch 11 is a stepped shape in which a small diameter part 13 and a large diameter part 14 are continuous to each other at an outside diameter side stepped part 17. After stepped parts 17 and 25 are formed on inner and outer circumferential surfaces of the intermediate stock 18a, respectively, the flange 6c is formed by bending an end part in the radial direction of the intermediate stock 18a inwardly in the radial direction with the stepped parts 17 and 25 as starting points.
