To discriminate communication abnormalities in a wired communication path from communication abnormality, in wireless communication path in a radio data transmitting/receiving system.
In the radio data transmitting/receiving system 10, a communications control ASIC circuit 24 in an MCU substrate 20 is connected to a coupler substrate 50 by wire by a transmission signal line 28 and a reception signal line 30, and the coupler substrate 50 can conduct radio communication with a wireless TAG 70. In the reception signal line 30, a bias level when there is no signal to be received in the MCU substrate 20 is set at H level, and a bias level, when there is no data to be outputted in the coupler substrate 50 is set at L level. In this case, if a request for returning ID data of the wireless TAG 70 is outputted from the CPU 22, although the ID data can be acquired in a normal communication state, the L level would continue, when radio communication is in an abnormal state, and the H level will continue, when wired connection is in an abnormal state.
