Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base isolation structure using conventional vibration isolation apparatuses, for an underground structure, which can exert the function of the vibration isolation apparatuses without exposing the same to the outside. SOLUTION: The base isolation structure includes the vibration isolation apparatuses (24) embedded at each end of a center post (18) of the underground structure (10). Each vibration isolation apparatus has a metallic member (26) having a horizontal plane (30) and another metallic member (28) being harder than the former and having a horizontal plane (32), the horizontal planes (30 and 32) making contact with each other. The center post (18) has a plurality of main reinforcements (20) vertically extending on the periphery of both the metallic members (26 and 28), and a plurality of hoops (22) enclosing the periphery of the main reinforcements except for peripheral portions of both the metallic members.
