Abstract:
Coolable arched roof comprises at least one layer (1) of fire-resistant rock, and an arrangement of layers on the side of the fire-resistant rock layer facing away from the interior (11) of the oven which consists of a cover layer (2) for sealing the interior of the oven against the penetration or escape of gas, an insulating layer (3) having a heat-insulating effect, and a cooling layer (4) for guiding a cooling fluid. An Independent claim is also included for a melting furnace comprising the above arched roof. Preferred Features: The cover layer is a metal foil, preferably a steel foil. The insulating layer is made of an insulating fabric or felt based on rock wool. The cooling fluid is water.
