To provide a hollow-woven air bag substrate which has a more improved inner pressure-holding performance than those of conventional air bag substrates and can be applied to air bag devices for protecting the side faces of drivers or the like, to provide an air bag using the hollow-woven air bag substrate, and to provide an air bag device using the air bag.
This hollow-woven air bag substrate which has a bag portion formed from an upper fabric portion and a lower fabric portion and expanded on the operation of the air bag and non-expanding portions not expanded on the operation of the air bag and has portions each continued in the direction not parallel to warps or wefts in a boundary portion on the non-expanding portion side on the boundary between the bag portion and the non-expanding portion is characterized in that the boundary portion has a plain weave construction wherein the warps constituting the upper fabric portion are crossed with the wefts constituting the lower fabric portion and the warps constituting the lower fabric portion are also crossed with the wefts constituting the upper fabric portion.
