Abstract:
To provide an exhaust emission control device for calculating a Sox amount occluded in a NOx occluding agent more accurately.
When an air-fuel ratio of exhaust gas flowing into a NOx catalyst 25 is lean and the NOx catalyst is in an active status, SOx in the exhaust gas is occluded by a first manner, and when an air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas flowing into the NOx catalyst 25 is inactive status, the SOx in the exhaust gas is occluded by a second manner. The sum of the SOx amount occluded in the first manner and the SOx amount occluded in the second manner is used as a total SOx amount occluded in the NOx catalyst.
