Abstract:

To separate and recover lead from a gas produced in the treatment of wastes containing Pb, Zn, S, and Cl in a reducing heat treatment furnace.

The method for treating a cleaning liquid containing an insoluble residue obtained by cleaning a gas produced in the treatment of the wastes containing Pb, Zn, S, and Cl in the reducing heat treatment furnace includes a process for separating a part mainly containing carbon and a part containing insoluble lead sulfide through a flotation process from the insoluble residue obtained by the solid-liquid separation of the cleaning liquid. The part mainly containing the carbon is returned to the reducing heat treatment furnace and the part containing the insoluble lead sulfide is utilized as a raw material for lead smelting. Zn component is precipitated and separated as zinc hydroxide from the liquid from which the insoluble residue is separated and the precipitate is utilized as a raw material for zinc smelting.
