Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell in which the crack in a separator is prevented and the increase of the flow resistance of reactant gas is suppressed. SOLUTION: (1) The fuel cell has a separator 18 with fluid flow paths 26, 27 and 28 formed therein. The groove base plate 30 of the fluid flow path and at least one of the groove side faces 31 and 32 of both sides of the groove base plate is connected by a connection plane 33 comprising a bulge plane 33A or slope 33B in the part of the fluid flow path at least a portion in the fluid flow direction wherein the size of the connection plane 33 of the fluid flow path is changed in proportion to the bearing stress for the separator. (2) The separator 18 contains carbon as main component. (3) The size of the connection plane is made larger at the fluid flow path portion 34 placed outermost in the plane of the separator than any other portion of the fluid flow path.
