Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing flat bar windshield wipers having bent flat bars (11), especially with variable material thicknesses (d) over the length of the bars. In order to achieve the production of tolerance-precise, dimensionally stable flat bars having predetermined bending radii, a spring band (10) formed by the flat bars (11) which are arranged on top of one another to form one piece is bent between three support points (23-25). Said support points are interspaced in a longitudinal direction of the spring band and are located on one of both sides of the spring band (10) in a successive and alternating manner. Afterwards, the spring band is bent back again with a smaller bending degree in the opposite direction at a successive support point (32). After the flat bar (11) which is treated in such a manner is removed from the spring band (10), it is connected to a rubber elastic wiper strip and is provided with a connecting device for a wiper arm.
