Abstract:

To eliminate the deterioration of the steering feeling resulting from a change in the characteristics of a suspension control device.

An ECU 35 for assisting the steering calculates the controlling amount Tas-Tav on the basis of the vehicle speed V and the steering angular velocity θv and gives an assist torque corresponding to the controlling amount Tas-Tav to the turning operation of a steering wheel 11 by operating an electric motor 15 under control in accordance with the controlling amount Tas-Tav. An ECU 36 for stabilizers rotates stabilizers 21 and 22 so that the relative rotating angle lessens by operating an electric motor 25 under control in accordance with the relative rotating angle of the stabilizers 21 and 22. When the stabilizer control system is in failure, the ECU 35 sets small the damping controlling amount Tav to compensate the increase of the damping coefficient for the rotary motion round a king pin shaft in association with the failure.
