Abstract:
Fuel injection system (1) has pressure adjustment mechanism (10) in fuel flow channel, extending from low pressure delivery pump (6) to high pressure delivery pump (4). Pressure adjustment mechanism regulates pressure of fuel to be supplied. Abnormal pressure collecting mechanism (24) supervises a pre-selected parameter, which shows interrelation of energy held in fuel and determine whether pressure of fuel at inlet of high pressure pump is abnormally high. Fuel injection system has a pressure accumulator in which the fuel stored at a desired pressure for injecting the fuel into a combustion engine. A high pressure delivery pump, which is driven by the power output of a combustion engine, supplies fuel to the accumulator. A low pressure delivery pump is driven by another power source besides the combustion engine, for sucking the fuel from a fuel tank and supplying the sucked fuel to the high pressure delivery pump by a fuel flow channel. An independent claim is also included for abnormal pressure collecting mechanism.
