To provide a treatment method of flying ash that is capable of recovering heavy metals from flying ash generated upon the incineration of wastes such as shredder dust in a high recovering ratio to recycle it into a refinement raw material and is capable of recovering chlorine for recycling.
The treatment method of flying ash comprises a step of conducting the acid leaching to ionize the heavy metals by adding an acid such as hydrochloric acid to a slurry containing the flying ash, which is generated upon the incineration of wastes such as the shredder dust, indicating acidity when dissolved in pure water, to adjust the pH to 3 or less, preferably to 1-2, a step of removing the non-dissolved residue by filtering, if necessary, a step of depositing copper by introducing metals having an ionization tendency larger than copper, a step of producing zinc sulfide by adding a sulfurizing agent, a step of recovering heavy metals except copper and zinc by adding an alkali and a step of recovering salts by concentrating the solution.
