Abstract:
To improve an operating condition after retard of ignition timing to avoid knocking.
This control device for an internal combustion engine is provided with an ignition device for performing spark ignition with respect to air fuel mixture inside a combustion chamber, a variable compression ratio mechanism capable of changing an engine compression ratio, and a knocking sensor for detecting generation of knocking. When knocking is generated T1, ignition timing is retarded, and after the retard of the ignition timing T2, a target compression ratio tε is reduced and the ignition timing is advanced.
