To provide a valve control device capable of preventing badness of operation of a valve from occurring due to icing and freezing without using a heater.
A valve control device is formed that the shaft of a suction control valve 24 located in a suction passage 23 of an engine is driven by a motor 26, and a flow rate in the suction passage 23 is controlled by the opening of the valve 24, and when an estimation condition for operation badness of the valve 24 is established, the opening is increased. The estimation condition for operation badness of the valve 24 is established when either or at least one of a condition that the temperature of passing intake air is lower than a given temperature, or a condition that a water temperature is lower than a given temperature, and or a condition that a steam overage condition (closing of a PCV valve 32) is established, is established.
