Abstract:
Method for operating the hydraulic actuator of a combustion engine valve in which the to determine the actual operating behavior of the actuator (26) the work space (60) of the actuator is temporarily connected to a hydraulic fluid accumulator (80). The resultant pressure drop in the accumulator is measured and, based on the known geometrical parameters of the actuator, the current stroke position of the actuator is determined and at least a measurement pair of opening time and stroke of an actuator element (58) determined. The invention also relates to a corresponding computer program for method implementation, a control and or regulation unit for a combustion engine and a combustion engine, especially for a motor vehicle.
