To solve the problem that an image which is not an extraction object is extracted when the image of the extraction object such as a blood vessel is not included in a search object region since the histogram of a pixel density is prepared for each search object region and a density threshold is decided.
After the density threshold is calculated from the histogram, when the density threshold is smaller than the average density value of the entire search object region or an area extracted by the density threshold is larger than a prescribed value, whether or not it is smaller than the average density value and whether or not the extracted area is larger than the prescribed value are checked again by using the density threshold used in an adjacent slice image, and the search object region is cleared when a condition is satisfied. Only the region of the extraction object can be extracted.
