To provide a package body for a lithium battery, capable of preventing a short circuit generated between a barrier layer of the package body made of metal foil and a flash of a lead electrode at a heat welding part around the lead electrode where the lead electrode connected to each of a positive electrode and a negative electrode of a battery main body is held and heat-welded in a protruded state outward, and capable of widening a latitude of a heat seal condition management, with improved workability and a stable sealing property.

The package body for the lithium battery, formed by holding and heat-welding the lead electrode connected to the positive electrode and the negative electrode of the battery main body in the proruded state outward, has at least an inner layer having a heat-welding property and a barrier layer made of the metal foil. The inner layer or an innermost layer of the inner layer is made of an olefin group resin having a metal adhering property, and at least one layer out of the inner layers contains a filling material.
