To provide a programmable indicator enabling the use of an application program and a data file included in a general purpose computer.

In a programmable indicator 2, a VNC client section 211 transmits trigger conditions, such as input operation by a user, to a server computer 3. From a preset batch command, an event manager 32 in the server computer 3 initiates an application processing in an application section 33 which is specified by the execution of the batch command according to the input event thereof. The initiated application program opens a data file in a storage unit 37. A VNC client server section 36 transmits an image data displayed by a display processing section 38 to the VNC client section 211. The VNC client section 211 makes a display processing section 212 display the received image data.
