Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening construction for a building, which is capable of realizing the extreme easy maintenance under the conditions, that rain water hits the surface of glass constantly, and self-cleaning of a glass surface can be expected to eliminate the secondary contamination of the glass and peripheral members by a sealing material. SOLUTION: An ultra-hydrophilic surface treatment with a contact angle less than 10 degrees is applied to a window pane 1; at least a sealing member at the outdoor side attaching a sash 2 of the window pane is constituted with an undefined sealing material, having no elution of a water repellent component or a defined gasket 3 which has no elution of water-repellent components; and moreover, at both the sides of a bottom frame 2a, drips 5 projected out by a prescribed length from an exterior wall having rising weirs 5a and 5b (or similar flashing mechanisms) are installed at both the end portions.
