Abstract:

To provide an insulin-resistant disease model mouse exhibiting symptoms similar to human insulin-resistant diseases including food intake increase, hyperlipidemia, fatty liver, obesity and hyperinsulinemia, and to provide a screening method using the model mouse.

The A170 gene knockout mouse as an insulin-resistant disease model is provided. The screening method using the A170 gene knockout mouse is also provided, comprising screening therapeutic agents for insulin-resistant diseases. The A170 gene knockout mouse exhibits not only insulin resistance but also symptoms similar to human insulin-resistant diseases including obesity and fatty liver.
