To provide a member for cutting off near infrared rays constituted by strongly and stably fixing fine particles for cutting off near infrared rays in a thin film state without damaging the feeling or light perviousness of a substrate and having excellent in near infrared cutting-off effect.
The member for cutting off near infrared rays is constituted by fixing the fine particles for cutting off near infrared rays on the surface of the substrate comprising a resin. The surfaces of the fine particles having a thin film of a silane monomer having an unsaturated bond formed thereon are chemically bonded to a part of the silane monomer having the unsaturated bond formed on the surfaces of the adjacent fine particles and the resin on the surface of the substrate is chemically bonded to a part of the thin film formed on the surfaces of the fine particles to laminate the fine particles on the surface of the substrate by a chemical bond and the surface of the resin and the unsaturated bond present on the thin film are chemically bonded by graft polymerization.
