Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyalkylene oxide-modified phospholipid having a small amount of impurities such as a base having nitrogen atom and a monoacylphospholipid. SOLUTION: The polyalkylene oxide-modified phospholipid containing <=3 wt.% monoacylphospholipids and <=0.02 wt.% bases containing nitrogen atoms is expressed by formula (1) wherein, R<1> CO, R<2> CO are each independently a 4-24C acyl; (k) is 1-6; R<3> O is a 2-4C oxyalkylene; (n) is 10-800 averaged molar number of addition of the 2-4C oxyalkylene; M is H, sodium or potassium; X is a 1-3C divalent hydrocarbon or C(C=O)(CH2 )q [wherein, (q) is 1-4]; and (p) is 0 or 1 and when (p) is 0, Y is H or a 1-4C alkyl, and when (p) is 1, Y is H, amino, carboxyl, aldehyde, glycidyl or thiol}.
