To provide a brazing method for a rectangular metallic ring, a method by which a minute rectangular metallic ring can be brazed on a ceramic substrate free from positional and angular deviations and by which facilities for the brazing can be simplified.
This method includes: a process 3 of applying a temporal tacking agent on a metallic layer which is stuck, on a ceramic substrate, in a shape roughly corresponding to the planar shape of the rectangular metallic ring; a process 4 of placing, on the temporal tacking agent, the rectangular metallic ring which is formed with a clad material of a metallic layer and a brazing filler metal; and a process 5 of brazing the rectangular metallic ring on the ceramic substrate by fusing the brazing filler metal and vaporizing or thermally decomposing the temporal tacking agent. In the process 3 of applying the temporal tacking agent, the temporal tacking agent is applied in a manner at least nearly dotted in a pair on the opposite sides on the metallic layer which is stuck in the shape roughly corresponding to the planar shape of the rectangular metallic ring. In the process 4 of placing the metallic ring, positional correction is performed with only the X and Y axes as the basic axes.
