Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing system that can suppress degraded gradation of an output image, without decreasing the processing speed, and to provide its control method at a low cost. SOLUTION: An image reader 30 has a LUT 33a that converts the gradation of a read image signal into 8-bit gradation and applies gamma correction to the signal at the same time, and a computer 38 has a LUT 33b that converts the image signal with the 8-bit gradation received from the image reader 30 into a signal with 16-bit gradation and applies gamma correction to the signal at the same time, and a LUT 33c that converts the image signal whose gradation is converted into a signal with 8-bit gradation and applies gamma correction for output to the signal at the same time. The LUTs 33a, 33c have equal gamma values and the gamma values for the LUT 33b are their reciprocals.
