To provide an organic matter decomposition system capable of reducing the concentration of volatile organic matters in a cabin by efficiently removing the volatile organic matters volatilized in an unmanned cabin after an occupant gets off a vehicle and organic matters as their generation source.

The organic matter decomposition system 1 comprises a carpet 2 to carry photocatalyst installed in a cabin, a light source 3 to irradiate light to the carpet 2, a door lock detection means 4 to detect the locked state of a door, and a control unit 5 to control the light source 3 to emit light for a predetermined time according to the door lock signal from the door lock detection means 4.
