To provide a fuel reformer-housing vessel and fuel reforming device of little power generation loss by preventing the conduction of the heat generated in a fuel reformer to the fuel reformer-housing vessel.
The fuel reformer-housing vessel 10 includes a base body 1 which has a recessed part for housing the fuel reformer 8 therein at the top surface, a cover 4 which is attached to cover the recessed part atop the base body 1, a supply tube 5a of which the front end is joined to the fuel reformer 8 by penetrating at least either of the base body 1 and the cover 4, fixes the fuel reformer 8 by floating the same in the space between the cover 4 and the base surface of the recessed part and serves to supply a fuel to the fuel reformer 8, and a discharge tube 5b of which the front end is joined to the fuel reformer 8 by penetrating at least either of the base body 1 and the cover 4, fixes the fuel reformer 8 by floating the same in the space between the cover 4 and the base surface of the recessed part and serves to discharge the reforming gas. At least either of the supply tube 5a and the discharge tube 5b has an opening area of 50 to 90% of the external form area at the section orthogonal with an axial direction.
