To reduce a wide variation of an amount of the back flow gas distributed into a plurality of cylinders by means of an inexpensive technique easily applied to the conventional technique in an EGR device of an internal combustion engine for circulating a part of exhaust gas (back flow gas) on an intake side by forming a back flow passage between an intake manifold and exhaust manifold.
In the EGR device of the internal combustion engine (diesel engine 1) for returning a part of the exhaust gas (back flow gas) on an intake side by forming a back flow passage (EGR pipe 27) between the intake manifold 6 and exhaust manifold 7, a gasket 41 having intake ports 41c and 41d for adjusting an inflow amount of the back flow gas is arranged on a connecting section between the intake manifold 6 and EGR pipe 27.
