To provide a control method for smoothly driving an internal combustion engine employing a turbocharger including a plurality of exhaust gas introduction passages.
This invention relates to the control method for the internal combustion engine 1 with a supercharger 10. The internal combustion engine is provided with a plurality of exhaust passages 5-1, 5-2 formed being grouped. The supercharger is a plural entry type turbocharger provided with the exhaust gas introduction passages 15-1, 15-2 corresponding to the exhaust passages and introducing exhaust gas to a turbine 12. Waste gates 8-1, 8-2 are provide in each exhaust gas introduction passage, and one exhaust system is formed of the exhaust passage and the exhaust gas introduction passage. An ECU 20 establishes at least one of a target temperature and the target gas pressure of exhaust gas at each of the exhaust system, and the temperature and the gas pressure of exhaust gas are made close to target values by adjusting openings of the waste gates.
