To provide a filter capable of obtaining high adsorption efficiency even with a small amount of adsorbent while reducing pressure loss.

A slurry containing a powder-like adsorbent (activated carbon or the like) and a fiber (pulp or the like) is made and a microwave or vacuum suction force is applied to a molded body in the wetting state to expand it. Thereby, the filter formed by a porous adsorption body having a bulk density of 0.01-0.5 g/cm3is obtained. The filter of multilayer structure can be obtained by forming and molding the pulp sheet 2 in the wetted state by applying and making the pulp on the molded adsorption body in the state that the pulp sheet 3 in the wetted state and the porous adsorption body 1 in the wetted state are superposed and thereafter expanding the molded body in the wetted state.
