Abstract:

To provide an endocrine disrupting chemical substance decomposing method and apparatus which dispense with an anti-stain measure and light source replacement, and have high removal efficiency of endocrine disrupting chemical substances.

The apparatus for decomposing and removing endocrine disrupting chemical substances contained in water 10 to be treated a solid-liquid separator 12 for performing the solid-liquid separation of the water 10 to be treated, and an electrolyzer 13 for electrolyzing separated liquid after the solid-liquid separation. The electrolyzer 13 has an electrolytic cell into which the separated liquid is introduced, and an anode and a cathode immersed in the separated liquid in the electrolytic cell and connected to a direct-current power source, and controls chlorine ion concentration in the separated liquid introduced into the cell, and the density of current applied between the anode and cathode to mainly generate ozone. The endocrine disrupting chemical substances are oxidatively decomposed by hydroxy radicals generated from the ozone.
