Abstract:

To reduce an arithmetic amount for signal analysis, in an adaptive block length encoding in which a frame is encoded by hierarchically dividing it into a plurality of blocks.

At first, a plurality layers which are composed by one or more blocks from the frame which is a time period of an input signal. Then, when an analysis period composed of one block of any layer is constituted with a plurality of blocks of one or more layers which are different from the layer, an input signal is analyzed on each block corresponding to any set of blocks for constituting the analysis period, and analysis information is generated. The analysis information corresponding to the analysis period is generated by using the analysis information which is generated for the plurality of blocks for constituting the analysis period.
