To provide a method for finishing fabric surface in which the fabric is irradiated with laser beams without formation of large molten clumps thereby molting the fabric surface to melt the fibers exposed on the fabric surface to be made smooth the fabric surface, or change the color tone or draw design or pattern on the surface whereby the fabric surface are finished without increase of production cost.
A straight laser beam 11 discharged from the laser beam oscillator is allowed to reflect on the rock-rotatable first mirror face 13 and the reflected laser beam is rock-rotated, then reflected again on the second mirror face 14 that is different by 90° from the length direction of the first mirror rotation central axis 18 to irradiate the fabric surface. These first mirror face 13 and the second mirror face 14 are rocked to change the reflecting angle of the laser beam 11 on the mirror faces (13, 14) thereby fitting the irradiating position 21 of the laser beam 11 to the needed point of the fabric surface 21.
