To improve operability regarding a change in a display area of a virtual picture to be displayed on a display section, in a mobile terminal device for browsing the virtual picture having the area larger than the display section.

The mobile terminal device 1 comprises: two housings 2, 3; a display section 11 provided in the housing 3 for displaying various kinds of information; a memory section storing a virtual picture containing various kinds of information; an operating section 6 provided in the housing 2; and a control section for displaying at least a part of the virtual picture on the display section 11 and changing an indication of the virtual picture onto the display section 11 in response to operation of the operating section 6. The operating section 6 comprises a scroll operating part 7 for sequentially scrolling the display area of the virtual picture displayed on the display section 11, and a picture switching operating part 101 for switching the display area of the virtual picture displayed on the display section 11 into another display area, and the control section performs processing to change a width dimension from side to side of the virtual picture in accordance with a width dimension from side to side of the display section.
