Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of joining a ceramic body mainly composed of aluminum nitride or silicon nitride and a steel sheet by firing under a nitrogen atmosphere to realize the joining strength equivalent to that of high- vacuum firing. SOLUTION: This method of manufacturing the joined body comprises laminating the ceramic body mainly composed of the aluminum nitride or the silicon nitride and the steel sheet across a brazing filler metal containing 40 to 64% silver, 12 to 28% copper, 12 to 22% tin and 8 to 16% zirconium (the total of metal components is 100%) and holding this laminate for 0.5 to 2 hours at 750 to 850 deg.C in the nitrogen atmosphere of an oxygen concentration 1 to 100 ppm while pressurizing the laminate under pressure of >=1.0 MPa, then cooling the laminate. The temperature raising rate up to 750 deg.C and the temperature lowering rate from 750 deg.C are both regulated to >=300 deg.C/hour.
