To simplify a nozzle insertion groove closing means in a vertical-pump-type liquid dispensing container including a cover 21 with a nozzle insertion split groove 24 fitted over the external surface of an operating member standing from the container with a lower part of a peripheral wall of the cover fitted over the external surface of a guide tube 13 standing from an upper end inwardly facing flange of a mounting tube 11 fitted over a neck of a container body to prevent the operating member from being pushed down by fitting the cover and the cover from removing by providing the means for closing the nozzle insertion groove.
In the mentioned container, a portion from the upper end to the lower end partially in the vertical direction is made into a breakable strip 34 having a linear weakened line 33 on at least one of its side rims, and a sheet 31 having a tab 35 protruding from part of the strip is stuck to the external surface of the cover 21, thereby closing the external surface of the nozzle insertion split groove 24 with part of the sheet.
