To provide an apparatus which is directed at recovering a single metal from metal slag such as aluminum dross stored in a pot, by melting, separating and settling the single metal in the metal slag through stirring the metal slag with a rotary stirrer and tapping the single metal out from the pot, can arbitrarily change its stirring position in a vertical direction, and consequently prolong the life of the rotary stirrer; and to provide an efficient recovering method with the use of the apparatus.
The recovering apparatus has the rotary stirrer 12 installed so as to rotate and vertically move in a separated state from the bottom of the pot 1; and an open/close cock 14 which is switchable independently from the rotary stirrer arranged at a tap hole 3 of the bottom of the pot. The recovering operation method comprises the steps of: tapping the molten single metal out from the pot; discharging the metal slag remaining in the pot while leaving one part of the metal slag in the pot; and charging the new metal slag into the pot for the subsequent recovering operation.
