To provide a radio communication system capable of executing radio communication of audio data with high sound quality while securing the number of channels required for radio communication even in an environment where there are a lot of channels without excelling in a communication condition.

DCL channels ch1-ch89 used for a communication system by a digital cordless telephone (DCL) are classified into DCL channels that excel in a communication condition and DCL channels that do not excel in the communication condition in accordance with reception electric field intensity of external radio waves measured by a reception electric field intensity measurement circuit 19a. When a sound equal to or more than a predetermined level is included in audio data used for executing communication by a communication system by a DCL, communication is executed by using the DCL channel that excels in the communication condition, otherwise communication is executed by using the DCL channel without excelling in the communication condition.
