To provide a content reproducing apparatus which is capable of limiting contents capable of being viewed, per user without requiring a complicated operation.

The content reproducing apparatus includes: an ID password management means 18 which determines whether user identification information is valid or not by a reproduction time of a content; a content directory information acquisition means 15 which acquires the bibliographic information of contents to which restrictions on access are not set, from a content server 40 through a network 30 in response to a request for the bibliographic information of contents in the case that the user identification information is invalid, and acquires the bibliographic information of contents to which restrictions on access are not set and contents from which restrictions on access are removed for users whose user identification information is valid, out of contents to which restrictions on access are set, from the content server 40 in the case that the user identification information is valid; and a content data acquisition means 23 which acquires data of a content selected from the acquired bibliographic information by a user, from the content server 40 and performs reproduction processing.
