To provide a gauge the light source shielding section of which is thought out so that the gauge may show a new fine outward appearance when the gauge is illuminated with light emitting from the same light source.
A forwardly protruded projecting section 12 is formed around a dial-plate light emitting section 11b which emits light from the surface of a dial plate 10 by using the light emitted from a light source 20 provided on the rear surface of the plate 10. In addition, a plurality of transmitting sections 12c and 12d which are transmissively illuminated with the light emitted from the light source 20 and constitute a graduation section is provided in the projecting section 12 and first light shielding sections 13a and 13b which shield the light emitted from the light source 20 and, at the same time, are illuminated from the front sides with the light emitted from the surface of the dial plate 10 by means of the section 11b are formed among the transmitting sections 12c and 12d. The light emitting section 11b is made to emit light from the surface of the dial plate 10 and the transmitting sections 12c and 12d constituting the graduation section are transmissively illuminated with the light emitted from the light source 20. In addition, a solid is shown by using the same light source 20 by illuminating the light shielding sections 13a and 13b with the light emitted from the surface of the dial plate 10 by means of the light emitting section 11b.
