Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mesoporous silica-alumina gel that has an average pore diameter in a mesopore region, has a large specific surface area and a large pore volume, and besides has an excellent heat resistance, and to provide a moisture conditioning agent and a catalyst carrier which are made thereof. SOLUTION: The mesoporous silica-alumina gel has features as follows: the mole ratio of SiO2 /Al2 O3 is in the range of 3-50; the content of Na2 O is <0.1 wt.%; a Brunauer-Emmet-Teller(BET) specific surface area is 250-1,000 m<2> /g; the pore volume measured with the BET method is 0.30-0.80 ml/g; and the peaks of an average pore diameter and a pore distribution which are calculated with the BET method exist in the range of 3-10 nm.
