Regarding the imaging device for photographing by using the parameter capable of setting any of the plurality of selectable items, the device includes: selecting means (38, 39, 44, 46, 48 and 49) for selecting any of the plurality of selectable items; a system control circuit (50) for setting the item selected out of the selectable items as a parameter; and storage means (60 and 64) for storing the history of the set selectable item. The selecting means includes an optional selection mode and an automatic selection mode to select any of the plurality of selectable items, irrespective of the history, and a history selection mode to select any of the plurality of selectable items based on the history, and the storage means stores the history of the selectable item selected and set in the optional selection mode or the automatic selection mode.
