In the intake device for an engine having a flange part with a plurality of intake ports open thereon projected from one side surface in a width direction of the cylinder head, joining the spacer provided with the exhaust gas recirculation passage extending in the cylinder row direction to the flange part, having a plurality of boss parts in which bolts for fastening the spacer and the flange part are inserted formed in such a manner that the same are arranged on both upper surface parts of the spacer and the flange parts in the cylinder row direction and project upward, and having the fuel injection device injecting fuel to an intake port mounted at the hollow part put between the boss parts on the upper surface part of the flange part, a drain groove extending in a roughly horizontal direction with passing through the boss parts is formed on the joining surfaces of the spacer and the flange part.
