To provide a personal information communication system and its method for performing the transfer confirmation and discard certification of personal information from a user at the time of communicating personal information through the Internet, and for specifying the user of leakage source when the personal information is leaked.
This personal information communication system is provided with a personal information transfer server 1 for storing personal information, an authentication station server 2 for issuing/authenticating electronic signatures based on a public key code, a user authenticating server 3 for authenticating a user, and the user personal computer 4 of a user. When the personal information is sent, a transfer confirmation log 5 is generated, and when the personal information is discarded, a discard authentication log is generated, and when the personal information is leaked, log files 16 and 17 are retrieved by using public keys, and the leakage source is specified.
