To provide a lightweight fabric excellent in tear strength and wind-breaking property, and to provide textiles using the same.

The lightweight fabric has a basis weight of ≤65 g/m2and is constituted of polyester multifilaments (A) whose single filament cross-section is a flat cross-section having two or more constricted portions and having a cross section flatness of 2 to 6, wherein the multifilaments are arranged as warps and/or wefts in the fabric, and has a of cover factor (CF) of 1650-2200, which is calculated from following formula: CF=(DWp/1.1)1/2×MWp+(DWf/1.1)1/2×MWf [wherein, DWp is a warp total fineness (dtex), MWp is a warp weaving density (yarns/2.54 cm), DWf is a weft total fineness (dtex), MWf is a weft wearving density (yarns/2.54 cm).], and the textile is composed of the fabric and selected from a group consisting of down jackets, windbreakers, kites, sail cloth, tents and sleeping-bags.
