An information processing apparatus connectable to a plurality of networks comprises an information storage means 110, a control means 122 for acquiring, from first information processing apparatus 22 and 24 for providing information services on the first network 20, device information and service information about the first information processing apparatus, and storing it in the information storage means, and a service provision means 126 for, when receiving an access request from a second information processing apparatus on the second network to the first information processing apparatus, sending the device information and service information stored in the information storage means to the second information processing apparatus in place of the first information processing apparatus. If the second information processing apparatus requests content not stored in the information storage means from the first information processing apparatus, the service provision means acquires the content from the first information processing apparatus and sends it.
