To provide a coating material on the surface of an asphaltic paving which is usable as the excellent primer and has not such following defects that an asphalt and a mortar are originally difficult to be bonded, so such a technique is often taken that the asphalt is coated first with a primer and then with a resin mortar, while the conventional primers are classified into a solvent type and a solventless type, but the solvent type has a problem for the solvent to vaporize and for the solvent to remain because of the strong affinity to the asphalt, on the other hand the solventless type has a problem of the difficulty in developing the strength as a resin and of the insufficiency for the adhesive strength as a primer, and to provide a method for treating the surface of an asphaltic paving.
The coating material on the surface of an asphaltic paving is a mixed material of a modified epoxy resin emulsion, an isocyanate compound and a cement powder.
