To provide an imaging apparatus, photography confirming method, method of confirming an image in playback, and program in which, when performing consecutive photographing or the like using a digital camera or the like, the number of images to be photographed, the kinds of photographed images and the like can be confirmed in hearing or when playing back images, the kinds of images, the number of images and the like can be confirmed in hearing or in sight.

While storing in an acoustic memory sound data 131 or the like corresponding to the number of images to be photographed or the kinds of image groups, during photographing or in playback, sound data corresponding to the number of images photographed or to be played back and the kinds of image groups are extracted from the acoustic memory and output as notification sound. When the sound data 131 are used, for example, in a case where five images are consecutively photographed, sound of 'do' is output for the first image, 're' is for second, ..., and 'sol' is for fifth, such that the user is notified with 'do', 're', 'mi', 'fa' and 'sol' throughout the images and can confirm that five images have been photographed.
