To provide a dog clutch device enabling to accurately matching the phases of a pair of engaging members to each other even when rattling such as backlash occurs.
The dog clutch device 40 comprises a hub 41 having a plurality of teeth 44 to form a tooth train 43 on an outer peripheral face 41a, and a plunger 47 provided on a case 70 coaxially with the hub 41 and non-rotably and having a tooth train 45 engaging with the tooth train 43 of the hub 41. The device can select an engaging condition that the tooth train 43 of the hub 41 engages with the tooth train 45 of the plunger 47 or a disengaging condition that the hub 41 and the plunger 47 are moved apart from each other so that the outer peripheral face 41a of the hub 41 is opposed to a wall face 71 of the case 70. At the front end of each of the teeth 44 of the hub 41, a protruded portion 44a is provided with its center being the highest. On the wall face 71 of the case 70 to which the outer peripheral face 41a of the hub 41 is opposed in the disengaging condition, a magnetic resistance element sensor 53 is provided which has a measurement point P set on the tooth train 43 of the hub 41 in the disengaging condition.
